2,4-Difluoroaniline #CAS367-25-9
It is a fluorinated aromatic primary amine with active chemical properties. Its reactivity is mainly determined by the nucleophilicity of the amino group and the electron-withdrawing effect of the fluorine atoms on the benzene ring. As a weak base, it can form salts with inorganic acids and can undergo typical primary amine reactions such as acylation, alkylation, and diazotization. It is a key precursor for synthesizing fluorinated benzimidazole or fluorinated heterocycles. Affected by the two strong electron-withdrawing fluorine atoms, the electron cloud density of the benzene ring is significantly reduced, resulting in its electrophilic substitution reactions (such as halogenation, nitration) being less active than ordinary aniline. However, specific positions on the ring can undergo nucleophilic substitution reactions under the action of strong bases. In addition, this substance is flammable. It is prone to combustion when exposed to high heat or open flames. When heated, it will release toxic fluoride and nitrogen oxide smoke. It also has strong irritancy to the skin and eyes and is highly toxic through skin absorption.
Application Of 2,4-Difluoroaniline
2,4-Difluoroaniline is an important raw material and intermediate used in organic synthesis, pharmaceuticals agrochemicals and dyestuff fields.
It is a highly valuable fluorine-containing fine chemical intermediate, with its core application in the synthesis of medicines and highly efficient pesticides. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is a key basic raw material for manufacturing non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesics (such as diflunisal, flufenamic acid), non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors, and new anti-tumor drugs. In modern pesticide industry, it is widely used in the synthesis of new generation highly active and low-toxicity fluorine-containing fungicides (such as fluamin, flupyrazole, pyrazonamidine) and highly efficient herbicides. Moreover, due to the special electronic effect of the fluorine atom in its molecule, it is also used as a fine functional monomer in the industrial production of electronic chemicals, high-performance liquid crystal materials, fluorine plastic modifiers, and special light-functional dyes.
2,4-Difluorobenzenamine is an intermediate in organic synthesis. It is used in the production of 2,4-difluorobenzoic acid and polyfluoridic acid in the pharmaceutical industry. Fluorobenzoic acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug of the carboxylic acid class, with the international non-proprietary name (INN) of Diflunisal. This new derivative of salicylic acid in the Chemicalbook structure does not contain the acetyl group of aspirin but contains a 2,4-difluorophenyl group, so it has less antiplatelet side effects and mild gastrointestinal reactions, and its effect can last for 8-12 hours. It may be the most promising variety among salicylic acid-based drugs. It is also an important intermediate for pesticides.
