4,4'-Oxydianiline #CAS101-80-4
4,40-Oxydianiline is a white crystalline solid,or a beige powder. Molecular weight =200.26; Boilingpoint ≥300℃ (sublimes); Freezing/Meltingpoint = 186-187℃; Flash point =219℃. Very slightlysoluble in water.
It is a core synthetic building block of aromatic diamines with a highly symmetrical, flexible ether bond framework and bidirectional highly active nucleophilic sites. In terms of chemical properties, the ether bond in the central part of the molecule has two pairs of lone pairs of electrons, which can form a strong conjugation effect with the benzene ring, continuously releasing electrons to both sides of the benzene ring, thus making the two primary amino groups at the position showing stronger nucleophilic activity and basicity than ordinary aniline, easily reacting with two molecules of anhydrides, acyl chlorides or carboxylic acids in a smooth and efficient condensation reaction, dehydration to form amide bonds or imide rings. At the same time, due to the introduction of the flexible ether bond, the molecular chain of it possesses unique free rotation ability, enabling its reaction products to exhibit excellent flexibility and stress relaxation properties when forming a high-molecular three-dimensional network polymer. Moreover, since the benzene ring belongs to a rich electron system, it easily undergoes bidirectional diazotization reactions with sodium nitrite in quantitative amounts, and its benzene ring is easily attacked by strong light, high temperature or strong oxidants, causing oxidation and blackening, and it also has medium and potential carcinogenic toxicity. Daily storage requires sealing in a cool, dry, tightly protected, nitrogen-filled environment to prevent oxidation and isolation from strong oxidants, strong acids, and thorough separation.
Application Of 4,4'-Oxydianiline
4-Aminophenyl ether is a resin used in the manufacture of a variety of industrial products. For example as, insulating varnishes, flame-retardant fi bers, wire enamels, coatings, and fi lms. It is also used for the manufacture of other fi re-resistant products.
4,4'-Oxydianiline has been used to produce polyimide resins.
Bis(p-aminophenyl) Ether is a reagent used in the preparation of polyimide-silica composite membranes for gas separation techniques. In addition, it is used in the synthesis of polymer films for elect rolyte membranes.
4,4'-diaminodiphenylether be used for preparation polyimide and epoxy resin material.
1. It is one of the important raw materials for high-temperature-resistant resins such as polyimide, polyetherimide, polyesterimide, polymaleimide, and polyamide; 2. It is also the raw material for synthesizing 3,3',4,4'-tetraaminodiphenyl ether, which is the main monomer for preparing a series of aromatic heterocyclic heat-resistant polymer materials. 3. It is also used as a Chemicalbook raw material and crosslinking agent for high-performance heat-resistant epoxy resins, polyurethanes, etc., in the synthesis of synthetic polymers. 4. It is also used to replace benzo[a]pyrene in the production of azo dyes, reactive dyes and fragrances in fields with carcinogenic effects. At present, direct dyes with different color grades such as fuchsia, brilliant red, sand red, yellow brown, green, gray, blue, brilliant orange, black, etc., have been developed using diaminodiphenyl ether as the raw material, and they can be used for dyeing fabrics of silk, wool, cotton, and linen, with superior color fastness and exhaustion rate compared to benzo[a]pyrene dyes.
