Product Details

3,5-Difluoroaniline #CAS372-39-4

It is a amphiphilic fluorinated aromatic organic intermediate that combines a strong electron-withdrawing aromatic ring and a nucleophilic amino group. In terms of chemical properties, due to the symmetrical distribution of two strong electron-withdrawing fluorine atoms at the 3rd and 5th positions of the benzene ring, the electron density of the benzene ring is significantly reduced through a strong induction effect, which directly leads to the significantly weaker basicity and nucleophilicity of the amino group compared to ordinary aniline. However, it still retains the typical activity of primary amines and can stably undergo acylation reactions with acyl chlorides, acid anhydrides to form amide bonds, or be quantitatively converted into diazonium salts under the action of sodium nitrite for subsequent Sandmeyer halogenation and coupling reactions. At the same time, due to the interposition and cooperative positioning effect of the two fluorine atoms, the benzene ring of this molecule exhibits extremely high regioselectivity for electrophilic substitution reactions (such as nitration, sulfonation or halogenation). Electrophilic reagents will selectively attack the 2nd, 4th or 6th positions with relatively higher electron density. Moreover, this compound has good thermal stability and resistance to common oxidation, but its vapor has moderate toxicity and irritation. It is prone to slowly oxidize and darken when exposed to high temperature, strong light or strong oxidants. It should be sealed and stored in a cool, ventilated, dark and away from strong acids and strong oxidants environment in daily life.

Application Of 3,5-Difluoroaniline

3,5-Difluoroaniline has been used in the preparation of 3,5-difluorodimethylaniline.

3,5-Difluoroaniline is mainly used as a key intermediate in the synthesis of complex organic molecules such as pharmaceuticals (e.g., antibacterial drugs, anti-inflammatory drugs), pesticides (e.g., herbicides), and dyes.

In industry, it is mainly used as a key core component for synthesizing high-end fluorine-containing pesticides, innovative fungicides, new pharmaceutical intermediates, and special fluorine-containing functional materials. In modern agrochemical industry, due to the significant enhancement of lipid solubility, metabolic stability, and transmembrane permeability after the introduction of two fluorine atoms, it is widely used in large-scale industrial synthesis of new-generation broad-spectrum fungicides (such as flutianilamide, flupyranilamide) with excellent efficacy and novel herbicides. In the pharmaceutical engineering field, it is used as a building block for electrophilic or nucleophilic coupling, and is often employed in the research and production of highly targeted anti-tumor kinase inhibitors, antiviral new drugs, and central nervous system regulators. Moreover, in the fine chemicals and electronic chemical industries, by utilizing its highly symmetrical and electron-deficient benzene ring structure, this compound is also widely used in the synthesis of special fluorine-containing liquid crystal monomers and specific monomer modifiers for high-performance fluorine-containing polyimide resins (PI), which can significantly improve the heat resistance and dielectric properties of the final materials.
